SNOW PUSHING Snow pushing equipment has improved over the years and Sumner Services have continued to improve the servicest we provide. With this new technogey we are able to clean parking lots and driveway with down pressure and with fewer passes. Fewers passes on the pavement this eliminates the chance of the snow packing and sticking to the pavement and reducing the amount of ice buildup and your pavement. SNOW HAULING Weather is unpredictable and sometime time winter storms leave us no choice but to remove excess snow piles from parking lots. If this occurs rest assured we have the equipment to properly remove it in a timely manner. ICE MANAGEMENT Anti-icing is the most cost-effective and environmentally safe practice in winter maintenance. Applying ice-melting chemicals before a storm hits, called anti-icing, is more effective at melting ice than applying an ice-melting material after a storm hits and a layer of ice has already formed. As a result, less material can be used, which will save the contractor money and time. This item should be non-negotiable. If they do not have the proper insurance coverage, their bid should not be considered.Why?You must consider the cost to you if anything should happen on your property and your service provider is uninsured or underinsured. It’s not worth the risk! Don’t be afraid to ask to see proof of insurance. Any professional service provider will be happy to show this to you. How long has the service provider been in business? You should look for a provider that is knowledgeable and keeps current on changes in products, equipment and technology. Do they belong to a professional organization? Affiliation with a professional trade association, such as the Snow & Ice Management Association, indicates that the service provider is interested in excellence and keeping abreast of industry changes. Is the service provider able to give you comparable references? When considering references, be sure that you are comparing apples to apples.]ust because the service provider gives excellent service to a small restaurant does not necessarily qualify them to handle a hospital, which must be maintained 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Get an estimate. LIf you call service providers for estimates, expect them to visit your property before giving you the estimate. Not only is it necessary to determine how they will approach the job, it is also necessary for them to note items that may be easily damaged if they don’t know exactly where they are, such as flowerbeds, fire hydrants, and mailboxes. Does the service provider use contracts? A contract should be used to clearly define the level of service provided, the pricing of those services, and the payment terms. It should also disclose the cost of additional services should they be required, such as stacking or hauling away snow. Do you understand the different ways service providers price their services? Pricing should be one of the last areas for comparison of potential service providers. Unfortunately, it is often the motivating factor in awarding a contract. As aconsumer; do you really want to know how much per hour it will cost you to have your lot cleared? Probably not, as this price would vary depending on the type of equipment that each service provider intends to use. What you are really interested in is how much it will cost to clear your lot to your specifications.

Detail Visits General maintenance and upkeep visits help to keep your property well groomed throughout the growing season. Our regular Detail visits, scheduled as needed between other services, allow us to prune, weed and care for your entire landscape as the need arises, keeping your yard looking its best throughout the year. Fall Clean Up and Leaf Removal Services Leaf Removal Services! It’s critical to remove the buildup of leaves on your property for several reasons: Keep our waterways and Chesapeake Bay clean and healthy! Improve the lawn and turf growing conditions for a beautiful, healthy lawn Reduce turf diseases Our Fall Clean Up service puts your garden to bed for the year and prepares all features of your landscape for winter. Service begins in October, the perfect time to clear your landscape of overgrowth, clean out all existing beds, prune all shrubs, and cutback your perennials as needed for the change of seasons. A light dusting of mulch on all planting beds completes the service. Mowing/Edging Regular Mowing services round out the All Season Maintenance Program, and are scheduled to coincide with the beginning of turf growing season. Our mowing and trimming teams will treat your lawn with care and leave your property clean and pristine every time. This service can be paired with Leaf Management Services in the Fall to keep you lawn tidy and leaf-free. Leaf Removal Services Total Leaf Removal from planting beds to lawn area.
